Still awake? Try this soothing pink moon tea recipe that contains tart cherry juice, a natural sleep aid. ??? . To prepare, mix: 1 cup/cup almond, cashew or oat milk (I use oat milk) 1/4 cup tart cherry juice 1 tsp. maple syrup 1 tsp. ashwagandha powder Splash of vanilla extract. You can also use a hand frother if you don’t have a blender. . Tart cherry juice contains melatonin, which is said to naturally help you fall asleep. I like to always have it on hand for those nights when I feel restless, nervous, or just want a really good night’s sleep. (I recommend @bionaorganic as it’s 100% cherry juice, no sugar). I also love adding some ashwagandha powder as it is a natural adaptogen that helps the body respond better to external stressors. ?? His little secret is nothing but ashwagandhaa a root that acts as a natural sleep aid. Calms the nervous system and avoids insomnia or nocturnal awakenings. You can find it in Indian grocery stores, in some organic food sections, and even online.

In “Moonmilk” you will also find cinnamon (great for digestion) nutmeg (regulates the production of stress enzymes), cardamom (anti-inflammatory) and Honey (known for its soothing properties), replaced by agave syrup.

Recipe for “Moon Milk” or “Light de Lune”

Now that you know a little more about this Indian drink, you can get some practice! You’ll need :

  • 1 cup plant milk (walnut, soy, almond, etc.)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon ashwagandha

Next, heat milk in a saucepan and add all spices in sequence. Stir for a few minutes and pour everything into your favorite mug. Then all you have to do is add a dash of honey (or agave syrup). Hello, moon milk is ready!
